Gathurst Juniors Win Ryder Cup
Ryder Cup At Gathurst 18/8/2017 : Result: Gathurst 6 Dean Wood 3
The Ryder Cup is an annual match played between Gathurst & Dean Wood.
The Ryder Cup is a trophy put up by Doctor Ryder a member of Dean Wood to be played each year between the Juniors of Dean Wood and Gathurst. The trophy is in memory of his young son who sadly died after a long illness, almost 20 years ago. It has been played for ever since and is a highlight of the Junior calendar.
We regained the trophy after a two year gap.
Players (left to right): Alex Priestley, Josh Slater, Dan Ainscough (Vice Captain), Bradley Ainscough and Oliver Duffy. Missing from the photo, Matt Lynch (Junior Captain).
